So here is my latest addition...

27733

27734

27735

27736

A rather orange phase 1 V70R AWD auto. VIN starts off YV1LW5208W2 - no surprises there, B5234T6 engine & 4 speed auto box with AWD

I christened it Dr. Know in reference to a song by Bad Brains, but the gf calls it the Golden Retriever and my sis, Goldmember

Moving on.....first up to fix is a strong smell of fuel when the tank is full....after adding a big bad 600 amp battery and getting rid of that awful grill that is...

27738

I was all set for moving it on, as it needs a bit of work, but I drove it all the way down to Milton Keynes (that's far for me) and back again within 24 hours - forgot how comfortable these things are for long distances

oh and I need the code for the radio due to the battery being off. Fortunately someone is getting an electronics set for xmas - we broke it open and knocked up an FM radio :)

Forgot to add to the above, does anyone want to swap their standard lights for my chav ones? I don't like them.

Damn.

Wish I'd have beaten Frankie to it, but I'd have had the fronts for the Shark! :(

Edit:
Colin too!

Edit, edit:
Your lad's hair's looking pretty awesome there Fella! ;)

Frankie, are you talking about all four corners? Please post up photos of the ones you want to swap. I'm looking to go back to good condition standard ones, so V70 rears not 850 ones, no cracks or fading, etc. Just saying so it's clear what I'm after. I will do the same for my lights

Sorry Colin & Steve, you are second & third dibs, although I know the shark has good condition fronts

Looks nice that, will look even better with the standard lights back in, I'm in the same boat as you I think the standard items look better.

Be intetesting to see how this progresses, what's on the to do list and what was the cause of the fuel smell or is that one of the items on the to do list.

Blimey, that could potentially be the lowest mileage Saffy V70R :)

thanks for that, I wasn't planning to keep it long but it's growing on me

Cause of the fuel smell was investigated today...a connection on the front right of the fuel tank (sender for fuel gauge?) - petrol is leaking out from underneath the large plastic nut...item 10 in the diagram below

Hmm...

Chances are, someone's been investigating why the guage isnt working properly and not replaced the seal properly when refitting.

Am I right in thinking the AWD tanks have 2 senders and 2 pumps?

Good thoughts!

Looks like it in that picture (2 senders/2 pumps)...one dodgy sender might explain why the fuel gauge reads half full when there is nowt in the tank - driving to Milton Keynes & back yesterday was...exciting. Especially due to the mass panic that follows sighting of a couple of snow flakes on the tarmac

Much better looking from the rear, I see the car was supplied by Harratts that's where my brothers Saffy came from :)

they always have fitted over 302's, the 850 type that don't ( and a lot of others)

That's good to know as I know of a red t5 auto that may be broken soon.
I need some spare wheels as I've been offered a swap for my comets but they are far away so I'd want them courier'd.
I could have a set of winter wheels too.
Cheers Adrian.

what he said. Tight at the front but just enough room to squeeze the calipers past the wheel weights

where's the R wheels gone james!

the Perfos have winter tyres on, so the Pegs are in the garage til the summer comes...in 6 months :)
