Hi everyone.

So stupid o clock this morning I was dropping the other half off at work, and an 02 plate s60 came past me as I was in a filtering lane, I noticed he had running lights in the sides of his rear clusters, I've got an 01 s60 and mine don't light up. I haven't been to check my bulb holders yet but Is this something we all have and I've just never noticed? Or is it something aftermarket? No bulb out warming on the dash either but if they're on the same circuit as the number plate light bulbs or something then I suppose there won't be.

They looked like this...

That's the facelift lights

The S60 rear lights don't have LEDs side markers as there is more space than the V70 lights which have LEDs fitted as space is tight.
Well that was the case on my 2005 car,not sure if in 2006 things changed ?.

This mod looks good !.

Yeah I like that mod! Seen that a couple of times. Half tempted to get another set of rears to give it a go!

But I'd prefer to sort out a decent upgrade for the headlights first because even with "updated" bulbs they're still pretty shocking!

Know have working rear side markers! :-)

Forgot my halfords trade card so I had to pay 3 quid for a paid of bulbs though!

Wonder how many other s60's are kicking about without them! That one this morning was the first one I've seen with them!haha

Thanks for the info, I popped to ECP on my lunch because I had a rear tail light out. After seeing this post I got some extras and chucked some in the side markers too, didn't even realise it had them and the DIM doesn't tell you they're blown like it does with the other bulbs.
I put 5w in mine, but think thy're actually supposed to be 10w in the side markers. Still does the job just not as bright.

Thanks for posting this thread - both these bulbs were out in the s60r and are now fixed.

I had no idea these lights were there until reading this!

Sorry guys, just noticed your replies!

All of a sudden I feel ever so helpful!haha Although it was Harvey who posted up the bulb diagram!

Every time I see an s60 now I always look to see if there marker lights are working! Usually not!

Thanks for the thread, wasn't too sure bulbs were there, and have not had chance to check, until this thread prompted me, but my 2005 R bulbs are there and obviously blown, so will replace them today
