v40 1.9d no boost pressure. Help! !!

As in the title. Boost gauge only showing a small negative pressure when revving. Variable vane actuator moving nicely so vac system is fine. Turbo is spinning nicely. No leaks in system. I'm bamboozled.

Does it feel like it's boosting? if so could just be the feed pipe to your gauge needs looking at, if not check the wastegate isn't stuck open.

Where's the waste gate? There's the vacuum plunger on the turbo working fine when I blip the throttle on the drive. I thought that was what controlled the variable vanes inside the turbo. Am I wrong?
