Hi Folks,I bought one of Greame Welch full exhaust system's from a member on here month's ago as the existing one was blowing and I fancied a stainless one . I bottled out when it came to fitting it as it was for a front wheel drive V70 ph 2 and mine is a AWD I thought it maybe a PITA to fit. I left it in the garage for ages thinking about fitting it but not actually doing it anyway the existing exhaust started to blow more and more the wife keep pointing to the exhaust in the garage"why don't you fit that one ", well I made a start on it a couple of weeks ago and with the addition of a couple of 135o stainless bend's to make a 40mm set and reshaping the rear end [the pipe is oval under the rear diff] it went on quite easy, I think it sounds and looks brilliant the wife is not so sure .The car seems to go a lot better now but it could be my imagination just ordered a K&N panel air filter for the air box as I read on here that's the next thing to do. As you folks spend a lot of time tuning Volvo's could I ask if it was your car and you wanted to tune it a bit more [not too much as the wife mainly drive's it and I will never hear the last of it if I go to far ] what would you do next ?.

I'd fit a 16t turbo, blue injectors, and get it remapped, instant T5 power. :D

I can offer you MTE's Swedish written software for the car (assuming it is a 2.4T low pressure turbo) for £395 including VAT and that would give you outputs of 235bhp with 380nm of torque.

You do not need to travel as you install it yourself for which you will need an older XP equipped laptop or a later one in compatibility mode. You connect the laptop to the car's OBD port with MTE's unique Softloader device and send the resulting read-out to me and from that MTE create their unique set of calibrations that, once you get them back from me you install by the same method. I loan that Softloader against a fully refundable deposit of £155.

You can reach me don@kalmar-union.com or call 01494 785508 if you want to talk it over or indeed buy the calibrations.

Don.

Thanks for the offer Don and yes it is a 2.4 lp turbo ,that sounds ideal BUT you lost me when you started talking about softloader ,XP equipped ,compatibility mode and sending you the results .I really just want someone to carry out the work as I know I will ball's it up if there is a computer involved and I am pressing the buttons.

Hello,

We can offer you a custom map for your car, you'll need to visit Nottingham though.

Once to read out the car (carried out for you whilst you have a cuppa) and a quick mechanical checkover, then we will need to schedule in another visit to custom map the car once we have completed the prerequisite work required to correctly map your car.

Visit one 1 hour
Visit two 2-3 hours

As for the changes we can give an appropriate % and BHP increase once done.

Current price for this service is £400. If anything mechanical is found and needs fixed then that can be done as agreed with the garage.

For balance, Don will have some ready made, decent, and somewhat more generic calibrations already available for your car, but we don't, not for the 2.4 LPT. Although we are happy to carry out the work on a custom basis as above.

We can also offer computer based remote custom mapping using Windows 7 or 8, to avoid travelling, if that's you bag, but by the sounds of it, it's not.

Fell free to PM me for further info. :)
