While removing the engine the oil cooler connections pretty much cumbled away, was thinking of finding another way of running an oil cooler maybe of an s60 and mounting it at the front? Any other suggestions? Never liked the idea of it in the rad.

When mine went I was advised not to go below a 19 row oil cooler.
Plenty of room behind the bumper to fit one.

you would need to get some pipes made up to run an external oil cooler, I paid £30 to have these made :)

fitted it in the centre, just behind the airway in the bumper

Sure i was told a me7 sump with the cooler on the rear is a straight swap on the 850s

The ME7 oil cooler uses the same method of cooling the oil as the 850.

The oil comes in and out throgh the back and water is pumped around it to cool the oil.

I`m running the same as JT but with a 13 row cooler. I`ve been logging the oil temp and have noticed with my set up it never goes above 100 degrees C

cool, thanks for the help everyone, like the idea of the front mounted ones just need to figure out how to join them the original setup

I just cut the fittings off the Volvo pipes and put hydraulic pipe over them with jubilee clips, haven't blown off yet :)

cool, just ordered a 19 row and a couple of an10 push fit 90s so hopefully cut the original hose and just join the fittings (if its long enough)

Cheers all
