HI there,

I just bought a year 2000 S80 T6 Geartronic and from what i can tell is missing a couple of features that i thought were standard.

Specifically, it has manual climate control ( isn't it supposed to have automatic?), and lacks the steering wheel controls for cruise control and the stereo ( again i thought cruise control was standard?) These are the 2 big things I've noticed at missing.

Also the 2 little things I've noticed is it is missing the buttons to turn the wing mirrors in, and to drop the rear head rests. again were these a standard feature?

Otherwise i am very happy with my purchase, and am glad to now be a volvo owner! :)

cheers,
matt

It could just be a rare poverty - spec.

AFAIK, plod never used the S80.

Wow - a 2000, S80 T6 Gaytronic... widely known as the most unreliable car Volvo made in the last 20 years. Nice to see one still about.

m-r-p. how was it unreliable? anything i should keep an eye on?

The S80, especially the T6 was rife with electrical gremlins. The engine itself is a good lump but almost everything attached to it was troublesome in one way or the other.
As already established, the auto box can be troublesome too so flush it and use the good oil.

In my opinion, if yours has got this far, it'll most likely be a good, reliable motor if looked after. And when you open the bonnet, there's the word "twincharged" which is always a good thing.

They are still reliable if maintained properly & don't have silly boost. :)
