1. What can I get as a straight swap exact fit replacement for the KKK with minimal/some power improvement/efficiency?

Or 2. where can I get a referb done on my KKK?

Or 3. where can I get a replacement KKK?

It really all depends on your pockets

I can let you know about all 3.

Kkk24 new approx £800

A company a friend uses £250 to rebuild most turbos (performance)

Owens development 19t £1000 approx or uprated yours whilst rebuilding, forge actuator £160, turbine and comp wheel £150 each

I believe there is a K24/26 hybrid available to fit the R (and others).

Ard for the tuning parts

These are pretty good

I believe they rebuild as well.

I can grab my friends contact, but turbo technics also a well known company for rebuilding.

Owens developments, is well known as is forge.

K16 is the better hybrid, but I thought he was after easy upgrades, he can purchase billet wheel and send off to be rebuilt with his turbo, very simple and then straight forward to pop back on the car.

Sounds about right, £250 overhaul £250 for uprated parts.

Is that with actuator, comp wheel and turbine wheel?

im running k24 with porsche k26 hot side wheel and k27 cold side wheel with uprated shaft and bearings, mine produced 410bhp before bottom end shell went north. Rick who worked at AET thought he could get to 450bhp easily. The biggest problem with the k24 apart from cracking is how early it wants to boost, mine was only running 19psi at 410bhp setup. just in the process of doing a fully forged engine then go from there.

Mine as Oblark will agree was making 16psi at 2,000 rpm, under hard acceleration in a high gear (I was testing not something normal for me).

The list price for a new KKK24 from Volvo is £862 + vat. Price correct as of December 2013.

So that's £1034 inc vat. Oh yeah, and it's an exchange unit only!! If you don't give Volvo a replacement KKK24 then there will be an additional charge on top! No idea how much that is but it's probably in the region of 25% value of a new turbo.
