I've been asked by JT a month or so ago if We're organising another Merc world trip it's while and I have a hankering for going on another hot lap or two.

Volvo graham hasn't been to any / many southern meets this year due to date clashes, so hopefully he can post up a date he and Ann are free then try and match it up with JT.

Hopefully this means, both the above can go and then just run with that date and see who fancies it, always a good laugh especially the hot laps.

16th is an event at Brooklands motor museum, maybe avoid this rest are event free weekends.

Hot laps start at 1pm iirc but need to book on the day when you get there and they do get booked up.

Tour is 12 iirc and worth doing cost is approx £2 (used to be free).

We even got chauffeured around the factory.

They offered us use of the entire 2012 fleet of cars etc, but there wasn't the numbers to do the cars.

I will be going back to Gothenburg next year, may see if others are interested at the time.

I think i remember seeing pictures of that trip, didnt realise it was you that arranged it, fair play to you that must of took some effort.

It's £15 for a passenger ride in an AMG (may have gone up by now) and that's a few laps round the handling circuit, a few round the skid pan and an accelerate/brake run up the straight.

For an afternoon's driving in an AMG, I think it's about 600 quid :yikes:

S60rs have gone down 20 (approx) in the last year.

Judging by the s60s, it's approx 65% phase 1 and 35% phase 2

It's roughly the same for the v70

11 am onwards peeps have a look around hot laps is from 1pm onwards iirc and £10-15 (can't remember) there is a guided tour from either 11-12 around the facility which is good and there is food available.

Just got home had to nip off at 2.30 as Hudson's not been well.

Nice to see the usual faces, hope everyone had fun.

The tour was very very good with an opportunity to sit in some extremely rare cars (300sl, one of my all time favourites for one).

Barry the hot lap driver has improved no end, the lap was exciting and fast!

Parked on the old brooklands circuit, just the part where the land speed record was broken in 1900's

The place was very festive, the Germans always go big, check out the tree.

Wow what a incredible day, Big thanks should go to Ettienne for organizing this, Thanks to t5steve for giving my lads some sweets too :) Had my 1st ride in a e63 and someone on the MBclub descirbed it as "Rellentless crushing Power and Acceleration" and this i believe sums it up quite well lol

Was a good day out and well done to Ettienne for organising the date, weather could have been better but then it could have just as easily been a lot worse. Great to take another wander round MBW and pop my AMG cherry, have to say the E63 is now very strongly sitting in my bucket list of cars to own! Apologies to those who did go and i didn't get a chance to say hi to, the intention was there, spotted from afar and then you all disappeared on the tour.. Lol
Was equally enjoyable to convoy up with Gav this morning and home again, car looked good on the road today and went well too ;) , got a real pleasure out of using the 850 even if it is now filthy, the joys of winter I guess.. Lol

Yep, I haven't got a spare 850 hub to go any further & the idea got binned

I'll look at it in the summer, I've just nearly finished my 320s on the 940 but accidentally made a bracket that allows fitment of all p2 brakes s60r etc, as all it is, is an adaptor bracket.

Funny thing is it may work on the 850 as same mounting hole just different offset
