Really struggling to get my head around what's best for my 1998 v70r. It's a pre me7 auto. It has a 16t which I will be re building as soon as funds allow.
Eventually it will end up being a manual with an 18t but for the time being the 16t will do.
Now I've been reading a lot of older posts and read that I could achieve 280bhp from the 16t.
What do I need to do this?
At the moment I have a 2.5" turbo back exhaust.
I can only assume it's standard injectors.
what colour should standard be??

I miss the power my 855 had. Although it was 257bhp compared to the v70r's 240 it was massively quicker. But a lot of that might be down to the v70 being an auto.
What should the v70r be boosting to??
I will try get a boost gauge next week/pinch the one from my 850

12psi iirc standard, white injectors.
Downpipe, remap maybe a mbc.

I was thinking mbc for the time being. As no one up near inverness do remaps that I'm aware of.
What would be a safe limit to up the boost to on the R with the mbc??
Do i need to adjust the actuator?
And would I be fine sticking with the whites??

Sounds like too much boost or lack of fuelling and the ecu is detecting knock.

I take it you have a Mapped ECU??? Only £150 from HLM or maybe one for sale within the forum, I ran a 16t for a while on my 850 and it was a good little unit, there is potential for near 300bhp with the right mods,
My set up was
HLM ECU... probably the best £150 you will spend (BHP/£££ )
blue injectors
2.5 cat back exhaust
Cone filter
RIP kit.
then i added a 18t with bigger intercooler and 3" downpipe with race cat and HLM mapped ECU to suit
314BHP which was a surprise on the rollers.
Never a fan of MBC as i have a tendancy to fiddle and i would be on maximum by the end of the day...

Mine is an auto tho. I think frankies ecu is for a manual.
Do I have to send my ecu away for a map or is there somewhere close to inverness that could do it for him?
