Not revolutionary but I thought I'd share.
Have a RooCase for my iPad which has a Velcro backing to the pad holder.

£3.99 ear seat organiser from Aldi.
£1 strip of Velcro stitched to the top.

Very stable. My son can just reach it with a finger to put his films on. No real wobble, which I thought might be a problem.
