As above gents,

I'm in need of a stage -23 tune up or whatever it's called... it's already had the cap and rotor replaced and the leads look fine on the face of it but given they've been on since Jesus was a boy and the plugs look like the came from the Titantic, change is good!

I can get genuine Volvo plugs for ~£40 for the set but will these be ok with 'slightly' increased boost levels - dunno what it's running, Rica something or other and the gauge goes off the scale.

Lead wise, Volvo want nigh on £86 at trade and the local factor want £25 but that latter will be more akin to cheese than actual leads... rumour has it you can buy genuine, non-branded leads for ~£40 but being an active ebay hater, can such be order via the likes of GSF etc?

Thanks in advance

Try and buy genuine ignition items, all my early problems were from cheap items breaking down under load, cost a little more but worth it, PFV ask for Jamie, they offer great service.

Thanks gents - knew there was some specialist supplier but couldn't for the life of me remember.

I assume standard Volvo plugs will cope with the increased heat that increased boost brings?

Genuine Volvo is a must for the plugs,
For leads, you can go with Genuine Volvo, Bougicord (who make genuine Volvo) or Bosch.
As others mentioned, grab them from the same supplier, save on shipping, etc.

New plugs in today courtesy of the main dealer... leads checked, appear fine and fairly new (genuine Volvo stuff) and post plug fitting, it would appear all is well. Seems slightly stronger mid range but that could be me talking pish.

You can't check leads, just because they look in good condition doesn't mean they are.. As andy said get some bougicord leads from PFV they come with Volvo stamped on the side and the coil is also worth changing in my opinion.
