Take it off clean it out with spray cleaner or such like and make sure you can hear the ball bearing rattle.

I just unplug the icv, I run all my 850's with them disconnected.

does not make a difference if i disconnect it. actually idles slightly faster too.

Have you tried adjusting the throttle cable, it maybe too tight.;)

Possible air leak in that case ??? or may be the throttle body needs a good clean, as it could be crudded up and not shutting fully, those would be my next suspects.

Air leak. simples

I had the same problem when I changed my engine, it was the seal between the master and the servo.

the map? how do u mean. as in ecu needs remap?

i had two maps for my 850r one held the revs and one dropped instantly when foot released, to be honest that made driving the car horrible very jerky on/off/on, its made/mapped for a smoother drive, if revs increase then an air leak is the cause i reckon

had this on mine it was the vac hose on the end on the inlet manifold by the thermostat right pain to get to but just get a length of vac pipe and run it round to the vac tree on the turbo intake pipe

I've got a set on my C70, they improve the handling a lot, but ruin the ride.

We have a group buy still going for BC Coilovers - which should be better quality/ride.

ok...
nsf hub done
oil n filter done
plugs leads n cap done... firing on 5 again.. phew..

issue still remains wih holding revs.. is it likely that although i hear rattle in icv it could very well be causing my problem and still be knackered..

when disconnected it drops revs when changing gear....

ok.
. throttle body cleaned but not removed..
. icv cleaned
.2 x vac hose rubber elbows renewed.

still holds revs changing gear.

.am i right in thinking that icv althogh free could still be up the creek.. when disconnected it drops revs.
starts idleing at 900 from cold increasing to approx 11-1200. this is same with icv disconnected..

#11.... ok. cable seems to be free. gunk free on throttle spring... dose not appear to be snagging or too tight..

#6..... assuming it points to the map what would the solution? i never bothered to research tuning beyond its factory setting,
bought car recently so mot really sure if its been tuned/mapped previously.

It should idle at 800 and it should hold revs between gears.
