Yesterday was probably the last sunny Sunday we'll get this summer so i took the chance to clean and wax the 850. It was in a right state when i got it but i've been spending a day here and there cleaning. It needs quite a bit of paint to get it perfect but it now looks presentable. Apart from the mismatched mouldings. Someone has painted a couple matt black in the past i think. As you do.

I love this green colour. Looks so different with a good coat of Autoglym HD wax.

Yeah, that colour's great when it's polished well.

What's going on with the trims?

Looking good, and I hope you sort the trim. I had to look twice at who had posted this, as I thought it would be a Gav thread.......

The trims have been hit with matt black fir some reason just the front wing trim and front bumper. I'm going to try heating them with the heatgun. See if the oils coming out the plastics help lift the paint. Failing that i'll get a couple off another car and work away on bumper.

I've watched people mask and spray round all the trim in no time, but how long it lasts, I don't know.

I'd rather it was just grey standard. If it was black it means the handles, boot trim and roof rails should also be done black.

If you look at my sigy pic, you can a very grey looking bumper trim on Gul. However, the door trims are a lot darker and might just have been replaced as I don't think they've been painted.

With a bit of heat and trim detailer they can usually be made to look almost new. Matt black never seems to last well on plastic trim no matter how well i prep it.
