Only had it for a few days, but this is what I'm getting as a rough estimate.

Local driving (up to 50mph, lots of stop/start, short distance) = 42mpg ish
Uni & Back (10 miles each way, some dual carraigeway = 50mpg ish
Motorway @ 70-75mph constant = 55-60mpg
Motorway @ 60-65mph constant = 65-70mpg
Motorway @ 55-60mph constant = 70-72mpg

Sound about right?

You gotta love D5!

I do!!

I still haven't quite managed to get the seat in quite the right place for me yet, the dual-stage heated seats are great though!!!

Taking a bit of getting used to, everything is so precise and tight compared to the 850. The only downside I can think of is the lack of visability compared to the 850 estate, and subsequent issues when reversing into a tight space (ie up to a wall). I think I need parking sensors :)

The seating positions are crazy it seems like there is TOO many options.

Once your set up with the seat, reach and rake wheel and mirrors you'll be sorted.

Thing I find hardest to get used to is the Electronic throttle :(

What do you mean?

What do you mean?

Well my S70 T5 was a wire connecting the accelerator to the throttle ....

This one is an electronic sensor telling the car to open the throttle by means of computers.

You can sometimes tell when you accelerate and there is a short delay :)

The throttel is done electronically on the S60 where as the 850 has a cable, very slight delay in the S60 to putting ur foot down to the car starting to respond.

That is very impressive MGP results. My Fabia averages 33mpg and i think i saw 40mpg once a long time ago - lol.

I know the actual difference between cable & electronic, lol. What I meant was - I notice no difference, ie any delay at all!

Lol. I'll try! :slap:

I managed to adjust my seat to the best position I think, being used to the electric seats in the T5 I could just do it on the move, but I daren't do that on the S60!!

Haha I know what you mean. Same for me, had leccy seats in S70 but not in this one.

Tried adjusting the height of the seat when i first got it, on the move also, nearly wrote the car off hehe!!

That reminds me of a time about 10 years ago, I was about 11/12 and my Dad hired a 7.5 Tonne lorry to move stuff between one house and the other, and whilst we were on the move he decided to adjust the seat height upwards by a small amount. What happened was when he pressed the button/lever, the seat dropped by a massive amount and he was barely able to see above the dashboard. I had to shout at him when it was safe to pull into the hard shoulder for him to readjust!

Blimey. Memories.

To add to this...

Today I thought i'd see how low I can get the instantanious readout to go, so, giving it plenty of beans accelerating down the dual carraigeway and I couldn't get the readout to go below 15.4mpg!

My V70 D5 used to get about 650 plus per tank which was great. The T5 gets around 400 on a run.

My Hyundai Getz 1.3 struggles to get 35mpg..disgusting, and is fairly gutless too, but what an easy car to drive.

I suppose with the D5 you've almost got everything you wish for. But make sure you've got leather!
