Is that wrapped too? Looks good, although I've never been a fan of number plates relocated from the original manufacturers position...

No, not wrapped. Got a full respray ;)
Personally I think a huge UK sized plate looks pretty awkward on the 850, and that's exactly why I bought a plate with an 'I' and two '1's in it so I could have a small cut down one fit neatly in the recess! :)

Not at all! And it'll look even better soon when its lowered.

I'm also still continually surprised how quick it is!

Nice transformation!

Would that be an Ardnamurchan sticker on the silver tailgate?

A quick update on the 850. Now on a set of JOM coilovers... Down about as far as it can go before sitting on the bumpstops!
Also got the windows tinted, wind deflectors, the aircon recharged, a good service and the alternator replaced.

Looks good. I like the late style roof rails on it too.

Whats with the rear bumper? Is one of the side plastic runners/clips broken?
From the pics, it looks like it's come off on the right hand side.

F*ck knows.... a garage did something to it and it sat better for a bit, now saggy again. Does the actual bumper break internally, or does a mounting point on the car more commonly fail?

Found a better recent pic of it whilst at a shoot....

Theres two chassis rails behind the bumper that have L shape brackets bolted to the ends, these brackets turn to dust.. You can still get the brackets from volvo new but dont take the bumper off until you've got the parts as it may not go back on.

Any pics of them or part numbers so I know what I'm asking for? Parts desks at main dealers are typically hugely unhelpful in my experience...

Yes that is exactly the part you need.

This is what it looks like without the brackets on.

This is with the brackets on.

The L brackets bolt to the chassis rails, on the bumper is a long metal impact beam which slots into those brackets, theres a long bolt that goes through the bracket from the bottom into the bumper then screws on to a captive nut on top of the bracket. If you can get them its worth buying new bolts which attach the brackets to the chassis rail, i had to grind mine off. The sides are attached with a specific nut that fits into the bumper then it goes through the inner wings. The offside you screw from under the car and the nearside you pull up the boot floor and can get to it there. The arch liners hold the ends of bumper secure and are riveted on, these can be bought from volvo for about £1.50ea, you'll need 6.

Try FRF Volvo Swansea and quote C3 discount, 01792 790066. I buy all my parts from them and are exceptionally good.
