My aircon isn't working. I'm not sure it was working before I had the engine replaced in my V70 either, but you can't hear it kicking in. I took it to Kwik Fit today for an MOT and re-gas. The guy said it's full to the brim with gas now, there's no leaks, but the compressor doesn't seem to be kicking in. I've checked the fuses, and the connection to the pump, and all is ok.
What else do I need to check?? Could there be "other" connections loose anywhere??

Cheers

Pressure switch connected? Funnily enough though, I can't recall seeing a low pressure switch on mine.

Cheers Harvey, do I get to it from below or on top?? Wonder why it'd need to be unplugged for an engine swap??
Will take a look today

I would think you could se it only from above as it's right under the drivers side headlight unit ?.

This is a pic of "something" I found near the washer filler! Should it be plugged into something??

The switch in the schematic that Harvey posted sits on top of the dryer (of which there are two types). I believe it changed on the facelift models.
It is indeed a low pressure switch and is a biatch to get to. I thinks it's possible to access with the Fan cowling removed otherwise you'll need to remove the front bumper.
Location is tight up against the left hand side (as you face the car) of the 'Rad pack', below the O/S/F intercooler hose.

Cheers Lee,

So I doubt that would of been touched when the engine was swapped, as the rads werent moved. They unbolted the subframe and dropped it down!

Hmmmmmm

it is a common failure for the compressor clutch to fail!

If the clutch was buggered then you wouldn't know it, because it will just free wheel.

Heres a good video explaining how it works and why it fails:

I strongly advise you don't do the bodged repair thou.
