Well, after searching high and low for the past 4-5 months for a manual 850 T5, luck would have it that I find one just up the road from me!

92,000 miles, full service history, and is my first entry into the world of boost :D

I haven't got round to taking many pictures yet, just the one earlier as I've been too busy savoring that 5 cylinder goodness!

Only plans for the time being is to sort out the faded bumper trims, and possibly find some R alloys, and perhaps an R front bumper too. Did they do the R's in this colour? Or will I need to have one painted up?

It also needs dropping down a bit as it looks like a 4x4!

Couple of little niggly issues, ABS/TC light keeps coming on, maybe sensor or the ABS ring?
Petrol cap doesn't seem to lock, is this a common problem? Seems like the little pin is sticking.

That's it really, it's nice to get out of Fords at last :)

Thanks mate, simple enough fix?

I thought as much, paint is very good on it so hopefully it wont be too bad to match! Are the R bumpers rare?

R front bumpers arent to hard to find, believe you can still get them from Volvo, although i bought mine from ebay, new unpainted for about £120.

Congrats on the car fella...also saw this listed, even bought some bits off the guy - some HD droplinks!

I've got an 1997 S70R auto, in sliver with a dark interior that I'm going to be pulling apart in June. You can come & take a look at the car as it stands & pick the bits you want- as I suspect you're not too far away - I'm in Baldock, N Herts, right on the A1M, J10.

Otherwise send me a list of bits you might be interested in & i'll sort out some prices. It'll all be going relatively cheaply as I got the car for an engine donor & all proceeds get ploughed back in to my 850R.

Cheers, Morgan

I've no idea what will fit from an S70! What wheels did they come with?

The wheel on the S70R are comets - 17"

As for what fits - pass. Although are very similar cars. Have a quick squizz through build threads & see what others have done would be a good start. Let me know if you'd like anything.

Cheers, Morgan

That's a challenge many have taken and failed, it's not just the looks of the car, it's getting it down the strip in the low 13's that's the hard bit. ;) Good luck bud.

Not sure on the comets! I'm quite liking Titans/Volans, but that seems quite a common look. Although I haven't seen another T5 around my way so that might not be a bad thing!

Also, what exhaust systems are we all running? Whilst I'm ordering a few bits I was thinking of getting a cat-back too, Demon-Tweeks are only showing Jetex systems, any experience with them?

Ben.

Mine was a p1 v70r awd mate, I removed the cat with a bypass pipe & made a 2.5" cat back system to get me to the back boxes. As it was awd it had twin pipes but even with the cat & mid box removed it still sounded lovely & not boomy at all. Volvo's tend to drone with poor systems on & I never had any of that.
Recommend by biff.
When I get another volvo I will look for a Jetex that's for sure.

That's good to know, thank you!

What tail pipes did it have? The ones I've found are 4" back box, which I think would look too big :(

Managed to get them sitting level & equal in the end & then broke it. :(
Really miss that car.

That's true, I'm used to small-ish cars of which a 4" would look far too big!

Your car looks great mate :D And the exhaust looks in proportion too!

Jetex it is then :)

Well after having a boost issue when I fitted the remapped ecu, a quick swap around on the BCS pipes last night followed by a test run, proved to cure the problem.

Wow is all I have to say, it's a different car now! Really pins you to your seat and with the big cone filter on you can hear lots of lovely whooshing noises, next up is a blanking plate.

However I really need to address the brakes and suspension, i'm still after a set of 302 carriers and lowering springs if any of you know of some

"Couple of little niggly issues, ABS/TC light keeps coming on, maybe sensor or the ABS ring?"

not saying it is, but mine does this along with the lambda light. With my car the fault is the ingnition switch, I have to turn the key back slightly after stating the car
