View Full Version : Suspension bushes?

Reading through previous owners receipts, the garage pointed out that the suspension bushes needed replacing. But I'm not sure if they were ever done!
How can I tell if they need doing? ~ is it a visual check (where?), or should I be listening for anything suspension wise?

Is it a big job? / too tricky for a semi-noob? / or a credit card disaster episode?

Also, if I do need them replacing, I've read conflicting reports between the options of normal (rubber?) and synthetic bushes - any advice please!

Thanks! :worship:

Are we talking front or back here?

Mostly be able to tell in the way she steers - especially when you put your foot down. There are 2 bushes on the wish bone and a ball joint - and there is a drop link between the strut and the anti roll bar (on the front)

There are also top mounts on the top of the strut. open the bonnet and look as you bounce the front of the car and see how much movement there is.

Let us know how you get on.
