View Full Version : rolling road today :-)

Well had mine rolling roaded today didn't expect that much bhp and definitely didn't expect 376ftlb of torque.

Overall came out at 301.2hp

First run made 307hp
Second run made 299.1hp
The first run was with the ebc set at 16psi
The second run was with an mbc running more boost but misfired. Probably caused by the afr's.

Thats on a hlm 304 map with a 16t running blue injectors at the moment.

3" throttle body n/a cams, rip kit, forged conrods, decat and a homemade exhaust.

getting a 19t next week so will fit and rolling road on the same dyno at the same boost and see the difference.

I cant post a pic from my phone but anyone who has me on facebook please feel free to upload for me :D.

Well done buddy, thats certainly nice power :)

Thats some good power :)

Was it dynoed at the Gosport dyno ?

Just out of curiousity which RR was it?

Good results mind - if you get yourself a photobucket or dropbox account - it makes it easy to share from your phone,

Thanks mate, didnt expect that much to be honest I thought around 260/270bhp and thought thr torque would match. :-) atleast its a starting point for more mods.

It was devil development in Littlehampton and it was a dyno dynamics rolling road. :-)

caseyt5
Wednesday 9th April 2014, 21:40
It just didn't seem that much and after alot of RRs with a 16t and 304 id seen on here most only make around 260/270 so kept my eyes on that sort of figure :-)

Massive torque for a 16t mate

caseyt5
Thursday 10th April 2014, 08:25
It has alot of room for improvement, it hunts on idle but can't find an air leak. It does pull effortlessly im hoping the 19t will improve the power later in the rpm

Very good figures mate, I always thought you couldn't break the 300 on a 16t without extensive headwork etc but I guess the cams will help up top, immense torque, my old 850 hit 280 bhp and 342ft lbs on a 15g which I thought was great, well done. You must be chuffed with that!

What boost was you running with mbc? Do you think n/a cams made that much difference?

caseyt5
Thursday 10th April 2014, 10:10
It was 20psi on the mbc, I never noticed a difference but on my mates t5 they drive totally different in how power is delivered. It also pulls hard from him 3rd onwards almost like his has stopped the only mods different are 16t na cams rip kit and 3"throttle body but hes running at 1bar on his guage

It is angled rip kit is 2.5 I think as its smaller then the throttle body but bigger then the standard pipe. I bought the kit off oblark :)

Deffo a 16t lol was the original that came with the car.

Your power is normal, I would be doubting his figures if he hadn't got such a good 1/4 mile tine

caseyt5
Thursday 10th April 2014, 10:36
I think the p2 delivers it alot smoother then the 850/v70 but doesn't explain the power difference :-S

not that much mate don't forget am also running 18psi with mine. hes 74ft/lb torque better off than me cant get me head around it . I could if he was using a 19t with thoses mods but not a 16t crazy.

P2 has 3" throttle as standard. what would help is changing the intercooler as they have 57mm ports.

There's something odd about Stribo's engine mate, it's always produced crazy amounts of torque.
Mine has a 210k engine with the original cat/downpipe which I know is restricting flow somewhat. I'll be dealing with that soon and then it'll be back down to Southways automotive for another dyno session.

Oi, don't call my car odd :P My car has 343 lb/ft, but only 245 bhp, that maybe because the torque tails off quite sharply after 3500rpm (possible actuator issue), but yeah it's running a 16t with straight flange, and whites.

Once the new turbo goes on, I'll probably fit a forge one, but it would be handy to know if this one's working properly.

mine has a ferrita 3inch downpipe that I got second hand from Hamish a few years back and you got the same bhp as me yes your torque figures is down compared to mine but its only going to bring it up closer to 300 like mine but where still way outside off the 850s also my engine has only done 104k theres something where missing .

Simple answer... ME7.1.

It tries too hard to make the car feel smooth and ultimately strangles it.
