Well seeing as the weather was nice yesterday I thought I'd crack on and fit the following from IPD and ELEVATE. Before anyone jumps in with 'not worth the import costs'...I didn't pay any! (Big thanks to Alistair) Otherwise your right and I wouldn't have bothered.

Anyway, pictures state the obvious so have a look....

Already I've noticed a difference with the new air filter. The silver one was Stainless steel and meant for the track. This new one filters to 0.005microns, allowing more air flow than OE.
The Vacuum is now 2psi less at idle. Will update further as I see any more differences. So far, so good!

Moving on...

Firstly (don't move photos from within photobucket otherwise they disappear from your thread, as a lot of mine have). I still have the pictures, just not sure how to re post them because I can no longer edit old posts.

Anyway, while I'm waiting for my IC to arrive (yes I'm still waiting) thought I'd sort out the front brakes being as they've not been serviced in a while. Occasional squealing noises.

So I stripped them down, cleaned the calipers, cleaned the pads, pins, anti squeal shims, and generally had a good degunge...

Whilst cleaning I noticed my 'steering stops' were worn (both sides now) so I replaced with a new set I had...

I also had some Genuine Volvo 'anti vibration dampers' that I bought two years ago and never got round to fitting, so I thought I'd chuck 'em on now...

Looking good as always, if it was mine with those big brakes I'd fit some proper braided hoses though.

Why? The OE hoses are already armored internally! There would be no benefits other than aesthetics.

And they are black on a black car,so they do match as well.

Nice, what vibration is being damped by the anti vibration dampers?

No idea. I'll let you know!! I think they stop brake squeal.

That would be handy, Brembo's do seem to suffer from being squeaky, whatever car they're fitted to.

If you look at the brembo calipers I'm getting, in the picture you can see a block top and bottom.

These are removable but advised to leave them on as they help reduce vibration. The brackets Lee has fitted will do the same.

Discovered these when browsing V70R.com.
I think it also helps to ensure the caliper guides, pins and tension plate are clean and lubricated with proper brake grease in the proper places. I use Ceratec anti squeal grease. It's almost clear and very sticky.
100% better than copper slip. Copper slip dries up over time and easily washes away. It's crap and I've not used it on brakes for over two years now.
