Only had the old girl for a week and I've been mega busy at work so no previous chance to give her some TLC.

This car was given a pre-contact soak in Car-Chem Snow foam and allowed to dwell for ten minutes to soften up the dirt and dust that was everywhere. This was rinsed off, and hand washed with Autosmart ph neutral shampoo before hitting it with Autosmart tar remover, and a further rinse. Soft towel dried and then a quick Autosmart Platinum polish before being sealed with SP Ultra 1000p. The tyres and black trim was dressed with Autosmart Highstyle and then the leather interior was cleaned and conditioned with Angelwax and Car-Chem products.

All in all a very leisurely three hours of work and very satisfying too :D

I hope you guys approve. I don't think she looks too bad given the mileage.

Very kind comments, thanks guys :) Machining the old girl will take a lot longer but at least the Volvo paint isn't super hard so it will correct easily enough. I need to bear in mind that this is a near 200k car, so trying to get it to 99% just isn't practical or even feasible. Clean and tidy will do :D

I'll be trialling various different waxes, sealants and trim protection products on this so I'll feedback what works and what doesn't, just in case anyone finds it useful. Serious Performance Ultra 1000p is proven to protect daily drivers for six months with good preparation beforehand and careful subsequent washing, but I'm more interested in keeping the black trim black as opposed to washed out grey!!

liquid boot polish works wonders on the trims...

Gulp.......really? How long do you find it lasts before you need to reapply it? I was more thinking along the lines of Autosmart Trim Ultra or Gtecniq (Your car looks great by the way)

month to 6 weeks first time, 2 months next time (re-did it when it starts to fade) I haven't used the boot polish for 6 months at least, I just wipe meguires tyre gel on the trims now the colour is pretty much permanent.

I might black them up when the shows and meets kick off again but they look fine for now.
