Got my donor cat today.
It's off an s60 t5 to go on a v70.
There are subtle differences like one of the lambdas
In a different position.
So before I get on me back, will it fit?

Yep. The sensor being in a different position could mean nothing at all. Your old cat could have been off an R.

The only thing that differs between the S60 and V70 exhaust - wise is the length of the middle pipe, the cat should be fine.

Have fun mate ;)

Cat is now on, just the rear end now so half way there.
Time for a brew first.

That's the hard bit done, the exhaust should be easy in comparison. Mind you I changed the dowmpipe on an S60R which was a real nightmare.

Ok, it's all on but blowing from the centre join.
The new gasket had 2 sides, one black and the other just metal.
Which way should it go on?
I've got the black side facing the rear of the car

Use some silicon sealant, will seal it up nicely, that's what's on our R.

Will pop out and get some later.
I will try again tomorrow as I forgot to clean the ends properly I think
And I really need to get stuck into my garden whilst it's nice.
Besides the weather is a good excuse to get the old Suzuki out

Come on lads stop giving out poor advice. Silicone for christ sake. Exhaust putty is no better. Get a decent gasket and clean the flanges as much as you can. A £££££££ file will do the job. Check neither flanges are distored with a straight edge

On the R I fitted the Supra gasket you recommended, and it still blew, so it was a case of blowing exhaust, or use silicon, one's an MOT failure, my option wasn't.

It's a genuine Volvo gasket.

Still it's practice for when my sports cat arrives
