+1 to getting it done - as you know full well it will almost certainly snap now you know about it & turn your engine into tofu leaving you feeling like a dunce for not getting it done in the first place.

Dont have to be genuine one really cos it`ll be either a Dayco or Contitec so what is the point paying extra for a blue box?Do the thermostat while u at it too.

Volvo dealer in Malton was doing oem cambelt kits for bout £60+vat for early stuff. Plus they should make sure it is the right one.

Cam-belt kit delco ktb429 is up to engine no:122**** and ktb316 is the later one.
And its the amount of teeth on the belt that's different aswell as the tensioner.

They changed the tensioner to a manual one at some point (can't remember the year) on the pre ME7 x70 range. Think they retrofitted them to older cars too (save on cost possibly?). My V70 has one because the engine was changed some years ago, must have been a newer engine.

Best to check the engine number on the back of the block (just below the water port on the back of the head)

If you ever need owt I drive past the door every day in week and am in Hull most days also so dropping it off should save you a trek over the hill.
