Whenever I put my foot on the brake and lift off there is a hissing. It carries on until I press the pedal again and release it slowly.

It also happens even after I switch the ignition off.

Any ideas what it could be?

It's not a easy job as the engine needs to be dropped down to get enough room to replace it.
I think they are a bit pricey as well.

I've got the same problem, Volvo want over £400 for one, I got one from Parts4Less for £170 delivered a few months ago when they had a sale on. Same parts numbers as what's on mine so an original part just not got the volvo sticker added.
I need to get mine fitted or try it myself if anyone knows the best way of doing it all help would be much appreciated. My T5 is a 2001 so has STC and not DTSC. Mine has had the hissing now for about 3 years but has recently got a lot worse.
