It`s a MAF from a BMW 540i V8 and as a internal diameter of 3.25"

This MAF as a top flow of about 50% over the 850 MAF, and green injectors flow about 45% more than stock orange injectors, seems like a good pairing to me :)
If we accept the stock setup is good for 250bhp or so, 45% on top of that is 362bhp :)

Nice , are you going to use the volvo sensors in the BMW unit or using the body & sensor as it stands.
After seeing the problems Graham had with just changing the pipe dia but keeping the stock sensor,I take it the remapping is going to be a bit of a head scratcher to get it just so,will keep you quite for a day or two.
Good luck.

Will a MAF from a BMW work on a Volvo?

I'll be honest, it's something I've never thought about.
It's not like one maf talks Swede and one talks German, or is it?
If it's just giving out a signal, would it be recognized by another ecu?

not being funny but why didnt you use the MAF from the very last V70Rs they are 86mm internal bore and AET told me thats good for in excess off 500bhp

I will be putting the 850 sensor in the BMW housing and then writing the map to allow for the extra air that is going through the MAF.

All 3 wire MAF`s give out a voltage ranging from 0v at tick over to 5v at WOT

P1 V70`s are the same as the 850`s MAF and the late V70`s are ME7 and the sensor is at different angle.

Couldn't you write the BMW signal into the map then?

are you sure about that??? They look the same too me apart from the housing size and these are both P1 models. My new MAF was from the last 'R' ME9 i believe models and its working fine on my P1 ME7 car

1 should be power, 1 should be earth & the 3rd signal

Yes :) if you look at the do88 pipe that Graham is selling then look at the my BMW maf which I`m using you see that the MAF sensors are at different angles :)

The sensor require air to pass through it so it read the air flow. If it is fitted 90 degtrees out it will not read the air flow.
