Firstly, i am looking to convert to HID's.... there are 2 lamps in the headlight that i can see. Do i just change the one, or both of them? also, are these ok does anyone know?

I am thinking of going with these? Any issues you envisage? Also, do i need to do anything about the full beam or is that part and parcel of the main lamp?

2nd thing...

My fog lamps are out. Checked the fuse and its fine. Anyone know where to start with it? is there a relay? both lamps look ok having looked through the lens' and not blown. I also want to change these to a hid type. is it the same kinda thing as for the headlamps?

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Re HID's make sure they are H7R bulbs for normal 'reflector' headlights, the dipped headlights have one set of bulbs and the main beam another, personally I just changed the dipped headlights, a worthwhile mod imho.

The V70 has H7 bulbs for the dipped and main beam lights and H3 for the fog lights.

Thanks Graham, much appreciated.

Doesnt it look weird though with 2 different types of lamps in?

I have projectors so mine are H7 bulbs, even with clear lenses you can only just about make out the 'normal' H7 bulbs for the main beam, maybe other members have pictures of bulbs in normal 'reflector' headlights.

i use HID's all round, they do take a bit of time to warm up when used as main beam but well worth it (55watts in the main). I've never used R's reflector bulbs either & never had any problems with glare

Mr Fandango.... on your fogs, are they just replacement lamps or a full hid kit?

excellent my good man. Just to clarify this pic. when you say main beam do you mean full beam? if so, in this pic are the full beam and normal dipped headlights on?

Sorry for all the questions, i just want to make sure i get it right first time and get everything i need in one go LOL. I take it the lamp arrangements are the same for yours and mine?

Isn't it technically illegal to have the fogs on when it's not foggy?

Monsieur Fandango... you say you have 55w in the mains... are these not an MOT failure?

This is true, but the police I've noticed seem quite keen on stopping people with fog lights on due to blinding people
