rough running

i fitted the cam cover (original) back on the v70r, i timed the crank and the cams up spot on, i fired it up and it was running rough as ££££, the engine was nearly jumping out of the bay, the timing sounds well off but the marks are all lined up, i am 2 hrs away from breaking this car cos ive just about had enough of it!!!!!!!!1 :parhmph:

it was alot more violent than a bad maf, also had a massive oil leak so have to take the whole lot off again

Have you got the cam the right way around? i.e intake in the right place?

Reason I'm saying, I got my pipers mixed up, but the engine would only turn half way before locking up.

yeah the car was running for a few minutes

I know you got the timing marks lined up ok, where are the three bolts holding the pulley to the cam? Are they in the middle of the slot?

i had a pulley cam locator snap once, ran fine first start then soon got worse took me ages to find the problem :wizardtro

HT leads on the correct cylinders?

ht leads i didnt take off, i juts took the dizzy off with them all on, the timing marks are all spot on, i will check for them being horizontal at the other end this morning

Shame it's come to this though, hopefully the money you get from this one will allow you to get the 850 how you want it.

100 mate but missing 2 out of three helicoils on each light but I've used like this for 2 years

Can't believe you're breaking this, it's surely got to be something simple if it's running.... Unless you've bent some valves because it wasn't timed up. Are you 100% sure the HT leads went back on the cap the right way round and that the rotor arm/cap itself are in good condition?

I'VE broken the cylinder head where the cams locate on the left, and this car has always been broken, I bought it broken LOL

i think you done the right thing mate, they break well and the extra doller will help. i woulda broke it too if the same had happend lol
