Im needing some advice about my R as its started to do some strange things. When I start it up the revs go quite high then settle down but while changing gear (usually from first, second and third) the revs dart up by 200 to 400 revs then settles again. It happens when I depress the clutch and release the throttle to change up a gear. It started doing this a couple of months back and besides that the car seems okay. Hope someone can shed some light on this. Thanks

Restrict the pipe to the ICV by means of putting a jubilee clip around the pipe and tighten the clip.

Simple as that lol. Does this mean my ICV is knackered or on its way out?
Out of interest, how tight should I make it?

Mine only started to hold revs when I fitted my RIP kit.

Here is how I overcame the problem.

my R did this also. I removed the egr and fitted a banking plate and it went away unexpectedly. It only used to do it for first few miles each day with engine cold.
