Thought I'd start a new thread :) And yes, I've searched and read a lot of helpful posts but I'm after some specifics with this one...

OK, so I'll be fitting 215/45x17s on the V70R once I get it.

My original thought was to fit UniRoyal Rainsport 2 which is what I had on the 850R - they're a terrific tyre and still available. However they're directional so sod's law will dictate that I'll get a flat on the 'wrong' side and the spare won't be safe to fit lol. The RainSport 3s are not directional - has anyone used these? They seem to have a similar if not better performance than the Rainsport 2s looking at the grip/economy ratings. http://www.camskill.co.uk/m54b0s15p111647/Uniroyal_Tyres_Car_Uniroyal_RainSport3_Uniroyal_Ra in_Sport_3_-_215_45_R17_91Y_XL_FR_TL_Fuel_Eff_%3A_C_Wet_Grip%3 A_A_NoiseClass%3A_2_Noise%3A_72dB

I've also been impressed with Continentals, so these are also in the mix - http://www.camskill.co.uk/m54b0s15p113088/Continental_Tyres_Car_Continental_ContiSportContac t_5_Continental_Conti_Sport_Contact_5_-_215_45_R17_91W_XL_FR_TL_Fuel_Eff_%3A_E_Wet_Grip%3 A_A_NoiseClass%3A_2_Noise%3A_72dB Again, not directional and the ratings seem good.

Would appreciate any feedback you could give on either of these.

Thanks, RT

Edit - RS3s are also directional, so I'll have to run with an odd non directional spare. hey ho

Gone for the Rainsport 3s from Camskills. Couldn't really complain about £75/tyre !

I personally wouldn't worry about to direction of the tyre in the event of having to run on the spare, it would only be for a short period of time and I have in the past run directionals the wrong way and not noticed any real difference. Obviously if the weather was very wet I would keep the speed down a bit to compensate
