Hi chaps,

So today we put the diseasel on the rolling road after a couple of tweaks and I was quite happy with the results. 186 bhp and 282 ft/lb (164 whp). So now I'm wondering shall I go further? I have been through it before with my last tdi and got to 235 bhp but it was hard work and ultimately ran like a dog as I couldn't find anyone to remap or 'chip' the standard ecu.

If I could find someone that could do me a custom map I would probably consider it again and possibly go even further!

As it is I think with slightly bigger nozzles and a turbo swap I may be able to push 210-220 but it WILL be smokey off boost and it costs a lot to get that smoke!

Shall I do it? Or can you do me a custom map??

It does go well yeah and still gives me 45mpg on my 30 mile daily commute! Also realised that I could probably have got 190 as I had a bit more in the fueling but hey I'm happy enough with what I did get.

Hybriduno is trying something new with the old motronic ecu's, not sure if its the same as the diesels though.

Its an msa 15.7 so I guess it's not the same.

Thats a shame, don't know what to suggest??? Is there anyone on turbobricks doing these cars?

Can't find anything on TB's. I think the ecu needs to be socketed in order to take a writable chip which is the easy part. Knowing someone with the ability to write me a map is the issue. Being an audi ael lump it has been done so many times within the VW/Audi scene and maps are readily availably, but not for the volvo ecu!!

Don't fit a tuning box, get a proper remap done.

Agree, yours can be remapped easily. Unfortunately boxes will generally increase fueling throughout the whole rev range which causes unwanted smoke or in your case a DPF headache!

:DFirst dyno with just the plug in box:
23596

After some tweaking :D
23597

Torque holds up much better and it keeps on pulling. Was quite chuffed that also managed to hold the boost at 18psi right till the bitter end, the k14 is one tough little turbo.

Or if you mean how have I tweaked it...I haven't, it's the other mods that gave me the extra

No they don't tried and failed. Well saying that it did 'work' but my god you lost the world behind you in a cloud of smoke, half the street lights within a 5 mile radius came on it went that dark! Unfortunately they have no control over fuelling at low rpm unlike the one I linked which takes a feed from the maf and alters fuel according to the signal.

Haha no worries. Same applies to anyone interested. I will also be at the rolling road day on the 29th march and hopefully (everything crossed), with a little more tinkering 195-200 bhp...... we shall have to see.
