Just a quicky (ooh-err)
I'm asking for someone on another forum...
Is the OBD on a 97 850 compatible with generic code readers like torque etc.?

Won't work with torque most you will get is basic codes read

That's sort of what he's after... He thinks he's got a knackered lambda - would it show the code on torque?

Nope the best he can do is get a proper Volvo reader on it or make one of the flashing led thingys

I thought the home made thingy was for the socket in the engine bay?
He's got the socket under the coin tray.
Happy to be corrected mind, I don't know much about the old stuff :)

AFAIK, it's only the older ones. The one I'm helping with has an OBD socket next to the handbrake.

I read the codes from Robs 850 yesterday with my code reader.
