OK, so I've started a new job and now potentially doing 600 miles a week so naturally I'm thinking of getting an oil burner.

What should I look for when viewing D5's? Are they any good?

Cheers

Had my V70 163 a month or two now and can't fault it tbh.
Not really up on the problems apart from the usual DMF, DIM etc.
Taking it easy (ish :D) I'm getting 300 mile to £40 @ £1.409 though, which is a lot better than the 120-130 I was getting from the R :)

I've actually got a 1.2 as well but my daughter uses it for Uni. :-)

Why drive a T5 as a daily, sat in queues munching VPower, when you can have a D5 for that mundane work and have a T5 for the weekends. :pimp2:

That's exactly why we have a starlet auto.
The T5 was using about 70 quid a week and now it only has Vpower, it would be a lot worse. The starlet takes 20 quid a week :)

same here. 307 hdi for weekdays. cant afford to feed the volvo at the minute. 27mpg vrs 47 mpg is a no brainer.

My thoughts exactly, I still have a Porsche Boxster in the garage, a 250bhp Saab 9-5 and a series 2a Landy!

That's just being greedy!

I do need to reorganise the fleet! The Saab and Porsche should really go! The Landy costs me virtually nothing to own.

I bet it's got one of those gel air fresheners that smell like Birds Custard hanging from the rear view mirror as well....? :D

I'm pretty sure it has, couldn't distinguish the smell though, sort of custard/maccy d's and farts?

That would be about right for a student car.

T5 on lpg is at least the same economy as D5 and lots more power, with a good set up should give 27-30mpg on the run using lpg at cost of 65-72ppl.
