Reversing lights

I seem to have a hit and miss problem with the reversing lights over the last week, sometimes they come on when car put in reverse, sometimes not and other times they dont come on until you are half way through a reverse manouver, I am guesing it is the revering lights switch on the gearbox that is probably faulty, anyone know where exactly the switch is on the 6 speed t5 box?
Before I start removing parts

It's the only electrical connection near the shift linkage on top of the box iirc.
