My petrol gauge is intermittent, it doesn't work more than it does, do you have to drop the tank to replace the sender unit, or can it be got at via one of the inspection covers?

According to Haynes, you can get to it under one of the inspection covers.

inspection cover mate BUT only with less than 1/2 tank fuel and needs new seal as it sits below full tank level

isn't yours an AWD? If so i'm sure the sender unit is in a different place so might not be able to get to it from an inspection panel

I believe you have to drop the rear subframe as well, Oblark would be the man to talk to as he's done it.
