Whats that trick to turn off the 'Time for regular service' message off on the dash? My local indie helpfully turned it on when I went in for something totally unrelated to a service:parhmph:

tossers did the same thing when I had my DIM changed.

1 ign off.
2 press and hold trip reset
3 key to position I then straight to pos II.
4 keep holding trip reset til you see the triangle flash and hear a ping noise.
5 release trip reset and turn off ign

that should sort it.

Cheers Martin,

I am a numpty!! I was pressing and holding the RESET button on the indicator stalk for the computer, not the ODO reset:slap:
After about 10 attempts and a lot of swearing, I realised what I was doing wrong. Dumb Ar3e!!!

Hi I tried this yesterday as I've got two messages on mine and it wouldn't work also I haven't got a reset button on my stalk is that normal lol also my two messages are sta airbag service required and engine system service required

sta airbag service required and engine system service required

I don't think you will reset those codes with this trick. You will need to get the car plugged in and have the codes read. Engine System service Required could be loads of different things.
If you unplug the battery for a couple of hours, it may do it, but I would be getting them read and sort out the problems.

Sorry, digging up a slightly old thread here.

I've just had this message come up. What kind of time delay should there be between the amber triangle flashing and the "bongs".

If I do this, I get the flashing, but no noise, and the service message remains.

2003 V70 D5 by the way...

For the earlier models, use the method I posted,

Ign off,
hold trip reset,
ign1,
keep holding,
ign 2,
ign off and let go of the trip reset as soon as the triangle flashes.
