v70 lpt refuses to turn over evrey now and then

just as title really freind has a v70 lpt say every now and the ignition turns and no starter has ignition lights ect internittant fault.......im thinking switch behind ignition? would this be the same as the switch on a 850? its a 99 v70 lpt

Could be the starter solenoid, get a test light , with one end fitted to neg batt terminal wire it to the trigger wire off the starter (green/red) spade, then turn the igntion the bulb should light.

if ok try it on the positive/power cable to the starter to see if its got power. it should light wen u contact the the Power cable.
then try earthing it on the manifold/engine and the other end on the power cable to the solenoid so as to check its earthed. If all good the Solenoid is Gurfunked!
