New to the forum so be gentle with me :)

Had my 850 t5 just over a week and its got a 16t turbo and an mte stage 1 ECU fitted, boosting to around 17psi.

What's the next best thing to do with these engines? Is there something that's fairly restrictive that can be changed/swapped that makes a good difference?

I've been a vw nut for a couple if years so know lots of cheap and easy quick power hikes for lots of engines from ze Germans just wondered if there's anything similar with the t5's?

Thanks, Charlie :)

The next thing that car needs is a down pipe and cat back after that ur looking at bigger injectors and custom mapping and after that ur looking at forged rods

Exhaust shouldn't be a problem considering I build them for a living that was on the agenda regardless. How easily tuned are the mte ECU's and will it adjust the fuelling off the lambda when I fit bigger injectors, or will it throw too much as its programmed for the smaller ones does anyone know?

Depends how far you want to take it and how deep are your pockets, cheapest way is a 19t plus injectors plus dp/decat/cat-back and a map to suit will see you around the 300 mark.

Charlie-R off the Caddy forum by any chance??

Yes! Henk as if you've joined in the same month as me haha what Volvo have you bought?

Yeah pockets aren't crazy deep, forging won't be on the cards for a while! Is the 19t swap a direct bolt on?

Yeah I've read up a bit about brakes seems 302mm is the easiest way to go for a bit if an increase.

What 3" throttle bodies are people using? Is there a direct bolt on?

Thanks for the replies :)

The only other option I've seen so far is 325mm tarox kit which is way outta my league :(

A few peeps run with 993 Calipers i think you have to buy the mounts from porsche? you can convert the rears to run a s60r caliper to.

Oblark has i believe manufactured his own brackets and runs Larger calipers and disc's

I stand tobe corrected tho, im still bound to poxy 302's :uglyhamme

Yes the 19t is a direct bolt on, forget about the cams not worth the hassle for what you want, 3" tb is a good mod but you have to enlarge the intake mani to match took me about an hour with a flap sander thing on a drill, and as you got to take the mani off do the pcv, if your ok with the spanners about 4hrs to do the job 1st time and its easy work 1 1/2 if your really good :)

If you good with the spanners you could run these, the only downside you will have to use 18" pegs.

Yeah I'm pretty handy with the old spanners, taking manifolds off/cams out e.t.c is no biggie. So there's a few brake options by the looks if things, none looks cheap though :(

What's the 3" body off? Do you have it map it in for idle? Looks like plan is 3"body exhaust and a 19t + injectors for a fairly simple power hike.

Anyone running standalone on their t5's?

Tuesday 1st October 2013, 21:49
you want the tb off a 960 3ltr you don't have to worry about mapping the idle, the only hitch is the throttle position sensor is in a different place to the original now some have had to extend the wires but some haven't (including me :) ) but its a direct plug in either way :)

Haha I'll pop the bonnet and have a look tomorrow, from memory the air comes out the top of the intercooler and straight into the tb but will check.

What's the 19t turbo off, and what turbo's on the focus St? Looks like a kkk, k24/26 at a guess?
