Finally installed a boost gauge and I'm getting a steady 17psi with MBC. Has anybody squeezed any more out there's??

Not sure if I should try it pulls really well but can never have too much power :)

I've been told a bar is the limit on standard map & fueling.

17 psi is good mate most maps will run there or there abouts and depending on your setup more than 17 is pointless really........although it is fun when it runs more ;)

Depends how much you like your piston rods, although it's tempting to go just that one more PSI, it can have expensive repercussions.;)

also the mbc brings the turbo in a lot earlier than with the bcs which is where your more likely to cause the damage as too much torque at low revs puts a fair amount of strain on the rods, now different people have different experiences regarding the rod saga but as a rule of thumb its best to ease the power in rather than foot down from the start...........although I never listen to own advice but that's probably why ive scrapped my last two ;)

Think there's something wrong with mine, seems to push 18-19psi regardless and that is with certain maps reduced.

you might wanna check your wastegate actuator and or bcs/mbc

With my V40 T4 i ran 19psi for nearly three years no problems

This `97 V70 i run 20psi with the HLM304 map and have had it almost 2yrs no problems.

How long can one be WOT for in this day and age of traffic?.......track day different story!

1.3 bar or 19psi seems to be the safe limit on a t4 in my opinion with original rods.
and as somebody who found out they can bend like butter , dont be tempted to go any higher - even if it survives the first few times, it wont give reliability.

not sure about t5 - because the t4 engine management can adapt more for compensating fuelling itself than a 850 t5

1.2 barg according to TME

(edit: that's for a 1998 model S70 T5 auto with B5234T3 engine, 16T turbo)

That's what I read the safe mapped limit was. Can't wait. Lol

Wastegate is set to 4.3psi (ish) as per Volvo spec (not long done this) but was boosting the same before. Have adjusted the TCV duty cycle and lowered the load request map (quite a bit) but still very little change. Will have to play some more :D

The volvaxo is running 17 psi with closed plug gaps and a Hybrid gt28 turbo :) pulls like hell! but I will not try for more until the engine has been rebuilt with new rod's ;)
