Hello all I need some info.

I want to fit the 302 front brakes to my 850 with a set of 16" alloys (or even steels, all will become clear).

My question is which of the newer v70 16" alloys fit the 302 brakes.

Names and pictures would be good.

If anyone has any for sale for sensible money send me a PM and I'll let you know.

Cheers :B_steerin

I believe that the Columbas are the only ones of the commonly fitted 16" wheels that will foul the 302mm brakes. The Perfos fitted on the V/S 70 clear OK

Hmm - all V70 16" should fit, I'd say? The 850 16"s won't.

A good point well made but I also bought a set of cheap winter tyres for December to March but forgot about the brake upgrae plan. Apparantly the old style T5 wheels don't fit on the 302 calipers....

Yeah 16" columbas will foul the new extended calipers if you fit 302mm discs something to do with the size of each spoke as it goes out to the rims thicker than other alloys
I know cos i was about to go that route and then i got the tape measure out to check
Later style perfo`s i think will be ok but double check

Cheers

Another question, why do americans add/change the bracket to have 302mm discs while us lot in the UK just slap them on?

Ok I'm confused :wtf:

What fits and what doesn't I have the original T5 wheels (columbars?!?) but you say the spokes foul the calipers.

Is this something that can be cured with wheel spacers or is it the actual rim itself that comes into contact with the caliper?

Please help a confused man. :dunce:

As far as I know:

the 280 calipers are the same as the 302 calipers but spaced out more by the (very expensive) mounting brackets
the 850 16"s will foul 302 mountings even with 10mm spacers

Anyone else?
