Hi first post.

I have managed to get an '05 centre console to replace the ridiculous original version, however I now need some guidance :-

1) Did the 05 model year cars have the option of the wired phone? If so is there a mount? Or do people just leave it dangling in the storage space?

2) Has anyone switched the original Atacama leather arm rest and retrimmed it onto the 05 year arm rest - is it possible ?

3) Does anyone have a part number or recommended place to purchase an aluminium space ball surround plate + is the alu surround for the stereo area worth doing at the same time?

Welcome aboard.
The phone has a mount that sits in the storage area under the arm rest.
If you're looking to switch from standard to spaceball gear stick/surround then there's a lot more to it than just changing a few panels.

Spaceball cost £86 direct from volvo all in price. The armrest I'd with the local leather trimmer that costing me £40 to get leather coloured with top grade leather and R matching stitching. Sent in my steering wheel to which he's doing same as this one for £150 for wheel £40 for matching two colour leather gear knob. This allows u to Bluetooth music to ur stereo, hands free calling via stock volvo stereo, usb storage and loads more giving the car the latest offerings that new cars get today.

The phone holders above are really high quality and if u get the top spect wired in one the wiring will plug into the grom unit via usb and charge ur phone too. It's also spins round for both horizontal and vertical use. The UK police use this one and they get a hammering every shift change. They have never failed.

Hi,

I have the 05 centre console now - I cannot however figure out how you get the leather top (or arm rest) away from the rest of the housing, it simply will not come away? I cant see any screws, other than the obvious ones.

I am looking to get the 05 arm rest retrimmed in Atacama, but at this rate that maight not happen! I just want the top off so I can give it to the guy to sort for me :-(

I'm at work at the min so can't put u any pics up but there are two hidden screws under the cup holder on the opposite end mate. U have to use a think pricing tool to lift up the cup holder plate a little ceom both cornets. U will then see the two hidden screws. Once all 4 screws are out it will pull off. U need to price around the chrome release catch surrounds too to remove them. They just clip on and off

I just called volvo up. Have them a registration of a random facelift car which as the part from auto trader and they ordered it in . had it the next day.
