I've had both & the beam pattern was better on the clear Volvo lights.

No doubting you Dave, but the difference between the originals and the projectors (with HID) is night and day.....

Parts for volvo's do some clear plastic lenses that replace the glass on the standard units.... Sure they're £30 a side.
Surely these can't be a million miles from the late c70 model lights when assembled?
The matching indicators on Volvokids are £90.
That's what I was planning on doing then eventually getting projectors when I'm flush.

I need to replace mine as well and after hearing that I'll probably just go for the projectors.. (besides....they look good in black).

I wonder if some of those metal bulb covers would make the difference with the beam? That's the only difference I can see. Hmmmm. Might be room for experiment. ;)

the projector lights have a little angled shield in front of the bulb, to make the pattern angled for left or right side.

on the originals, and any light with patterned glass, it is mostly done by the lens , and partly the reflector.
