Essex Meet, Dick Turpin pub Wickford essex NO longer welcomes Volvo driver's

Decided to make the effort to turn up , caught up with some good peeps, only to find the Landlord doesnt invite nor want Volvo drivers there, some of our members were told they were blocking the carpark, (pictures here) you decide.

And we/they should have informed the pub we where going to turn up, this is despite Myself and andysR cleared this a few years ago with the owner.
All who turned up purchased drinks and some had meals to so it wasnt even the fact we didnt give them any custom.

I wont be going back there again and i suggest we look for a more accommodating Venue for future meets.

He quite abrut and said next time let him know before turning up, and it was causing a issue because they were very busy on a Sunday. this is despite the carpark can easily accommodate 60 cars

You can see from your first picture there is an empty row behind your car and in your last picture it shows an empty row alongside the fence, tbh it looks emptier than any of the meets I've been to there.

Cant understand it, we were spending money in the pub, no one was driving daft or parking in the way of anything. I think the Manager/owner of this business needs a reality check. Its actually apart of the same chain as the one that the southern softies go to.

I must confess I was quite surprised at the comments made by the landlord, would have been nice to have had my say, had I not been inside the pub playing polite paying customer.... Merc your car's looking and sounding pretty sweet right now, and the green R, not sure on your forum name sorry, is coming along well. Keep it up :)

On a serious note any suggestions for the next meets location, I'd like to get the Essex meets back up to the strenght they once were so everyone needs to have an input ;)

The softies meet has wiped out half the rear car park at the Vine (OK, not today lol) with 14+ cars on several occasions and not once have we had a complaint (dirty looks from the IS200 club tho lol). Even when they're stacked, they still manage to seat 15+ members, usually in one area and all the food comes out within 5-10 minutes so nobody has to sit there and watch the others eat (for long)

I say organise the next national meet there :D

They have contacted me back this morning and would like to discuss with some one... Any volunteers, that would like to speak to them? I'm quite happy too as I have referenced The Vine in the rant...

I left a bad feedback on there page, shame really as i praised them not so long ago after me and my son had a meal there.

why not ring them and say i would like to bring a number of car enthusiasts along to your establishment for a meet and greet with pre paid bar and meals for all (about 40 head) we would expect a section of car park cordoned off.........Oh hang on i have made a mistake! Your the obnoxious tw4t that never wanted us there in the first place! sorry to have troubled you!
