What does a standard ride height C70 drive like with 18 inch wheels and 40 profile tyres? I have bumpy and rough roads locally and on previous cars (not Volvo) with large wheels anything more than 17 inch wheels has really ruined the ride and handling to the point where i hate driving the car. The Canisto 17 inch wheels i have currently with 45 profile tyres are not too bad on bumpy roads, but my wheels are in shocking cosmetic condition and im thinking of getting new wheels rather than a referb although not sure? It will be hassle to get wheels refurbed and the wheels are too bad to get mobile repair apparently, tyres need to off completely as the rims leak air and are badly corroded all over etc.

Cheers

I had t5r pegs on mine and the defo do need lowering around 35 mil to look smart in my mind but the bigger 18s make a lot of difference in the looks department

Cheers, yes they look good with 18's and lowering but what is the ride like with 18's? I dont want the wheels to rub or the ride to be too harsh. Maybe 18's are not too bad a ride on a C70?

I ran 19s with 35 and 40s on mine. had to roll the arches. 18s are a better compromise and depending on what suspension you run.

So maybe better sticking with 17's or 18's max as i dont want to mess about with the arches or want wheels to rub when the children are in the back. Would you say 18s with 40s is the max sensible option with an ok ride?

Yeah they are not bad at all, so that is 19's with lowering.

Yeah she's on eibach prokit springs - 40mm drop - IPD ARBs front & rear - meyle HD droplinks - at the time of the photo I was running Koni FSD but I have run those wheels on with the Bilsteins I now use.

I have not moved to 18s because I did not feel the change was dramatic enough to warrant the expense. 19s are a nightmare to keep nice.

went from 215 45 17s to 225 50 17s lovely and smooth ride and loadsa grip, these roads arnt good enough for 30s 40s etc ripping lower arms every 6 months and breaking springs now and again had enough they do rub a little on the inner plastics only on full lock but not as much as the 18 pegs I had
