Where Ph2 exhaust systems one piece from the factory?

JUst been poking around my crusty back box (that sounds so wrong :redface:) and I can't see any joint between the back box and the center pipe. If there is a joint, it's so covered in rust it's now invisible, and there's certainly no clamp anywhere.

Looking at images of replacement back boxes, they seem to join close to the box with a sleeve fitment. I've also seen used systems for sale on eBay and they are all shown as a complete center box and back box joined together. So this makes me wonder if the system was one piece from the factory, and that you are supposed to cut the back box off and then slide the new one on using the sleeve fitment on to the center pipe. Am I correct?

mine was a 1pc
heres the state of it when i changed it. would have to be a chop job just to change the backbox

My back box is not anywhere near as bad as that luckily! Got some leaks I need to bodge with Gun Gum for the MOT. Had considered getting a new back box but in light of the hassle it's going to be to replace it, and the fact the centre section has seen better days too, I'll not bother. Just hoping I can get it through the MOT. Will get a custom system in a few months.
