Dont boost below 3.5k at least, im runing around 18-19 psi but sometimes when its cooler its over 20! doh, like i said be careful you don't boost to much at to lower rpm.

Upto 21 is fine but don't floor it below 3500rpm

id stick to 1bar and keep it useable right across the rev range

all this dont boost till over 3500 is rubbish, the rods are weak and can go anytime, i was only running 18 psi or so and my conrods bent, if you want my opinion dont uise an mbc on an unforged engine its not if but when you will §§§§ it, just map it

i ran an MBC@20.8psi for years & floored it anytime i wanted & never had an issue, yet i know someone who bent a rod with a 15g & map. There are no set rules

Over here we try to keep it less than 10psi before 3000rpm. My ecu tune brings 10plus at 3600-3700rpm then 16psi over 4000.

It's generally the torque generated by the boost and the way the boost is introduced that kills the rods not the boost level itself, although they're closely linked...
Standard off the shelf maps run around 1.1-1.2 bar of boost, anymore and your asking for trouble, mine was professionally mapped, ran 1.4 bar over 3,500 rpm in the last 2 gears but 1.1 in 1st and 2nd for well over a year with no probs at all, I then altered the intake pipe work between the maf and turbo and bent a rod the very next day....

and if you haven't had it mapped you wont be able to go to high anyway!! I think its something like 14.9psi before you hit the dreaded boost cut? so best off saving your pennys and get it mapped mate,HLM do it for 150 of your hard earned

I've seen 1.1 bar without boost cut, don't want to go mucher higher though.

You can never have too much boost. Used to have fiat coupe got boost up to 2 bar before she blew

Mine goes to just before the end of the white with an Mbc, don't normally let full boost come on until about 2500 3000.

When (NEW) volvo rated the Conrods to 24psi. but as its been said, its the Torque at low rpm that kills them, Im and have bin runing 20psi. but dont floor it till after 3,500

Of course im not daft :)

I thought so lol, Whilst the OP doesn't state directly I'm fairly confident he/she wants to know the safe boosting limits of a standard engine.. Lol
