Sounds like the clutch is slipping, do the revs rise without any increase in speed?

Shrek's car did something similar, coughing under load. We changed the whole ignition system and fitted new injectors and it runs beautifully. My money's on your leads/dizzy/coil.

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be spark plugs, I was surprised at this because the plugs had only been in four to five months

I've usually put genuine Volvo ones in but last time I tried denso platinums , I didn't think they would wear out so quick I disregarded the plugs and spent weeks faffing with intercooler pipes etc looking for leaks

A lot of people on here recommend genuine Volvo plugs plus they're only around £30 on fleabay,I think I paid around £40 for the denso platinums a d they didn't last as long as genuine Volvo ones, hope this helps

You know it makes sense........

Always fit VOLVO plugs made by Bosch to VOLVO specifications.

Don`t fit Bosch plugs as they cannot sell the Volvo spec. under the Bosch name ones because of copyright!
