Well today was my lucky day and the day I have returned to Volvo ownership, Having been after a Manual 850R saloon or a Manual 850 T5R saloon on and off for the last 5 years and never been able to find one or find one that was worth buying in my opinion I spotted what looked to be special and cherished Gul Yellow, T5R, Saloon with Manual gearbox on Autotrader local to me and just had to go for a look, The rest is history and I am now the very proud owner of this...

I will be starting a proper owners thread in the relevant section over the next week or two but for now heres a quick teaser...

Not the best pic but you get the idea.

I went to view the car on Friday night and was blown away by its condition, I have never seen one as clean in the flesh and just had to buy it. It was owned by a proper enthusiast who shows it at classic car shows and quite simply pampers it. It has FSH and has had all the suspension/wishbones replaced, Reconditioned 15G Turbo, New clutch & Slave cylinder, Oil & FIlter every 5K miles, Pirelli P-Zero's all round with matching spare and has just covered 104K miles!

Sure it was top money but I saw it as a once in a lifetime chance to own what I consider a dream car especially one this good!

Happy to be back and looking forward to future meets etc

Regards Simon

Thanks Andy, I always wanted your car but with a Manual gearbox. Always really rated your 850R!

Yes it was on Autotrader, The seller lived about 10 miles from my house. He never bothered on the forums but is a proper Volvo Nut and has an S60 D5, The 850 T5R and a 440 which he recently scrapped.

I am very lucky to be in the right place at the right time! Its going to get looked after in my ownership thats for sure.

Cheers

I will definately NOT be parking next to that when I get mine on the road, if I can get half as nice as that I'll be happy. Stunning

We should at least have a Gul owners section of the forum.
