Well as much as all have you said dont but a v70 t5 before 04 well I bought a 02 plate with etm problem but I want a challenge and got some spare time to make it my own. So I have bought MRTREE's ex plod t5 runs but you can tell it needs sorting and a good clean as its just sat their doing nothing got the car for a steal and spent sometime with him and his misses today had a good laff and some good car chat.

so over next few weeks pegs will be going on and giving it a well deserved clean putting standard exhaust back on replacing a few niggly bits and doing a stage 0 tune up then roling roaded then on to the street to see if this t5 power is all you have hyped up to be and made me feel less worthy for having a little turbo on my c70 :p ha.

Would like to thank MRTREE and MRSTREE from me and the misses for waiting out with us for the recovery truck for 3 or so hrs waiting for the recovery truck ha but it was a very nice carvery and hope to see you and your t5 soon what is very smart example of a c70 and must say he can make my c70 shift and me §§§§ my self on a very loverly country road and his driving isnt to bad either ;)

so heres the only pick I took of it so far

Nice one mate, the ETM isn't a major problem, and may benefit from just a clean up, but if you can fit a known working unit all the better. A bit fiddly to fit, but James T5 has done a write up on how to fit it.

Hope that's the only pic like that we'll be seeing!

In your position, I'd contact a stealer and ask about having a Bosch unit fitted, it might be cheaper than you think and you won't be constantly in search of the next used Marelli unit.

If you need any info/tips etc, give me a shout mate - tired ex-plod being my "specialist subject" lol.

ETM change is easy mate, see my recent thread on the P2 forum. Get a second hand ETM off ebay and bolt it on but make sure it's from a T5 of the same model year to be sure of compatibility. The ETM issue is a pain but really not the big deal people make it out to be and not that expensive to fix either.

Good luck with the car! :B_thumb:

Post No. 14 is MRTREE's entry for your car, Since you're it's new owner, I thought it would be good to update the list :)

With the Rica you should see about 280bhp, depending on the condition of the engine.

It's alive well don't no till I get it on road and give it some beans so yesterday give it a quick wash to get most of crap cleaned. Can anyone tell me if the roofs on the ex plods are viynal as this one seems to have its roof viynaled then decided to conquer the the etm. Took etm off and was clean on intake side but not engine side so got it cleaned up and fitted it back in today left ignition on for a while and battery went dead so got it started and seems to run fine idles well give it a rev up to 3000 rpm then it went down to around 600 then up to 1300 then set steady at around the 800mark is hopefully its sorted that out for a while took the crappy resprayed plastic trim off the front bumper hopefully getting black replacement soon and it has same on door does anyone no if that comes off same ase front bumper or is that glued on.

So going to give it a good hover out and see what the interior is like freshened up.

Even tho it has a whole in that wheel barrow handle exhaust it does sound rather nice might see if it can be modified to look nicer and whole fixed

Pulled crappy resprayed white bumper panels off need a new bumper as this one doesn't seem to fit

I've got an airbox and OE air feed you can have for postage mate :)
I'd check that maf to turbo pipe too, they're prone to wearing through on the concertina bits.

The roof does appear to be wrapped. I had to wrap mine as the repaired holes kept letting water in and trashing my headlining.

Looks like you've got quite the project ahead, keep the updates coming ;)

Will do mate yer if you pm the price al happily have it off you and does your roof line sag in the middle were the b pilers are were their is some sort of box in roof as it keeps on falling off I think it is for the alarm, I will give it a check now got some parts to start doing the stage one tonight also been told that Asda have castrol oil going cheap going to pop up later and have a look does anybody no if its 10w40 semi synthetic.

It's a good project my fist proper one as well which I shall enjoy as I love the car and can't wait to get it taxed and insured and get out on the road

Thursday 6th June 2013, 15:23
10/40 semi it is mate. Change it every 5k or so.

The roof lining sagging is a result of a leaky roof, probably the reason the roof got wrapped (same as mine). Changing the lining isn't difficult, if a little awkward.

The box in the roof is a mass-movement sensor for the alarm. I superglued it to the headlining as it kept falling out and bashing little M-R-P on the head lol.

Thursday 6th June 2013, 15:32
Well getting a list together and new roof liner is going on lol and don't fancy little monkey getting hit and cheers you don't no how I get full access to the bulbs were the rear view mirror is as av pulled the clear plastic off and it seems a bit tricky to get to them

M-R-P
Thursday 6th June 2013, 15:48
In front of the mirror stalk, on the light unit, there's a triangular bit of plastic, prize it open (it's hinged) underneath is a couple of torx screws, undo them and pull the light casing off.

The above depends on which type of light unit you have (there's 3)
