Ok as well as having a part time slipping clutch on the R my V40 has just started too and will slip every time!!! Really cant ever seem to get on my feet with cars. Ive fitted genuine parts to this car since ive had it but Its just my work horse, do you think I should fit a none genuine clutch to it? I need to sort the V40 ASAP as its my daily and if it breaks I really dont want to have to spend over 100 a week on fuel running the R.

I found an original part was cheaper than Eurocarparts. £220 vs £258.

To be honest, most aftermarket clutch kits are of oem quality and often standard fitment. LUK is standard fitment on many vehicles as are Sachs. Most 'aftermarket' clutch kits we get in at work (usually Motoquip or LUK) tend just to be reboxed original equipment (Motoquip stuff is usually Sachs stamped) . My T5 has a QH clutch kit in it that I fitted probably 100k ago by now !

Cheers for the advice I did wonder if the quality would be much the same as oem.

I had a conversation with the Volvo parts monkey and he said that even the Ford ST/RS boys are going to Volvo for clutches due to the massive price difference.

What clutch do you needs for your R because I've got a new Sachs one I can probably sell you if it will fit?

The ford clutches are Volvo ones and the ford ones are cheaper.

This isn't what I was told, due to the numbers of ST/RS sold versus the number if M56's in a Volvo the price at the Ford dealer was astronomical.... I'm out and about today. Maybe I can pop into a dealer to find out the truth..

Been told its a good 8-10 hours work to change.
Then there's the other bits that's a good idea to chance. When in there.
