As my engine is in pieces I thought I`d clean the carbon deposit from the inside of the engine,

What is the best stuff to remove all the carbonizised oil ?

So far the only stuff to clean it is paint stripper,

And I`m not using that on the inside of the engine :)

dish washer is a good idea. I used one to clean my chainsaw parts. Worked amazingly but I suggest taking dishes out first, I got hell for that one!

Seriously, if you can get away with it that is the best way.

Failing that I tend to use paraffin and lots of scrubbing with nylon and brass bristled brushes then blast with a jet wash.

The old type brake fluid used to be good at removing carbon but the newer synthetic stuff won't touch it.
